In-Transit Visibility for Vehicle and Products Ennovasys has a vision for a "FutureChain" that provides end-to-end visibility of assets and products in the enterprise supply chain space. This FutureChain provides a framework for a modular approach in ensuring visibility either within specific points in the supply chain or with an all-encompassing view that extends visibility for trading partners with EPCIS standards based data-sharing. This solves a major pain-point of enterprises today, which is a lack of clear and upto-the-minute assets and product visibility throughout the supply chain. The "FutureChain" enhances efficiencies throughout the supply chain by not only providing crucial assets and products data for informed decision-making, but also promotes the model of cooperative and collaborative information sharing for mutual benefit. The Enterprise Visibility Solution (EVS) offers platform support for both Active and Passive RFID, as also seamless integration with GPS, Sensors and Mobile technologies. With user-friendly menus and screens that provide for a quick and easy view of enterprise assets and inventory, a Zone Manager that uses the location services engine to provide a visual map of where the assets are and powerful querying and reporting features, EVS is one of the key building blocks of the "FutureChain". The In-Transit Visibility Solution (IVS) provides complete visibility for products at every stage of the distribution process whether they move from the factory to the distributor/wholesaler or from the distributor/wholesaler to the retail store. IVS is the ideal logistics solution for anytime product visibility wherever they are as they traverse an enterprise's supply chain. Trading Partners Visibility Solution (TVS) extends the enterprise's supply chain visibility to its trading partners so that all stakeholders within the enterprise's ecosystem get the level of product visibility appropriate to their business role within the supply chain. The system not only conforms to EPCIS standards-based data sharing but also provides integration with a variety of vendor-specific back-end systems. Item-level Tracking for Retail:The item-level tracking solution tracks individual items in a retail store and connects to the back-end systems to automate the supply chain processes involved in procurement, distribution, storage/display and point-of-sale. Typical applications would be in manufacturiing in tracking high-value items and in consumer electronics. Product Authentication and Counterfeit Checking:PistaSuite supports EPC-IS for product pedigree tracking and authentication, which will become a compliance issue in the pharmaceuticals business to thwart drug counterfeiting and is also broadly applicable across a swathe of industries where counterfeiting is rampant. Vehicles are fitted with a GPS receiver and using their coordinates, the information is passed on through GPRS via cell towers to a central server that can then provide real-time location data to a terminal or a mobile phone. Back-end systems that do scheduling and routing get updated with this data. In the absence of such a system that makes use of both mapping data and communications using satellites for accuracy and mobile technologies for cost-effective tracking, it becomes very difficult to know where the vehicles of a company are at any given moment. The vehicle tracking solution can be a combination of both GPS and GPRS or may use just mobile technologies for tracking vehicles by using Cell-ID for triangulation and fixing the location of the tracked vehicles. Vehicle tracking results in greater utilization of vehicle assets, by enabling more efficient scheduling and routing.
